Philips brew group care
Remove, clean and refit the Philips brew group.
Regular rinsing removes loose coffee grounds and residue from the removable brewing unit. Follow the model-specific controls and never force the brew group out of position.

Remove the water tank and service door
Open the service area for your model and remove any parts needed to reach the brew group.

Release the brew group
Press the PUSH release and pull the brew group out carefully without forcing it.

Rinse the brew group
Rinse the removable brew group thoroughly with lukewarm water, paying attention to visible coffee residue and the filter screen.

Let it air dry
Allow the brew group to air dry before refitting. Avoid drying it with a cloth that can leave fibres behind.

Refit and close the machine
Slide the brew group back into position until it locks, then replace the service door, water tank and other removed parts.
Important
Do not use washing-up liquid or put the brew group in a dishwasher unless the instructions for your exact machine explicitly permit it. Let the machine complete its shutdown before trying to remove the group.
Brew-group lubrication
Regrease the moving parts when movement becomes stiff.
Cleaning removes old coffee residue, but the removable brew group also relies on food-safe lubricant at its moving contact points. Lubrication is a separate maintenance step and does not need to be done every time you rinse the group.
Clean and dry first
Remove, rinse and fully air-dry the brew group before applying fresh lubricant.
Use food-safe grease
Apply only a small amount of suitable food-grade lubricant to the moving rails and contact points specified for the brew group.
Move the mechanism
Work the moving parts gently so the lubricant spreads as a thin film rather than leaving heavy deposits.
Refit the brew group
Return the brew group to its home position and slide it back into the machine without forcing it.
