The Bambino Plus combines a compact espresso path with automatic milk texturing. Keep coffee-oil cleaning, descaling, filtration and steam-wand care as separate jobs.

Automatic steam wand
Wipe the wand and let its automatic purge complete.
Cleaning cycle
Run the tablet cleaning cycle with the supplied cleaning disc.
Water filter
Replace the fitted Sage filter on schedule or sooner where appropriate.
Steam tip
Check and clear blocked steam-tip holes.
Descaling
Run the Bambino Plus descale programme and full fresh-water rinse.

Coffee-oil cleaning
Run the Bambino Plus cleaning cycle.
Use the supplied cleaning disc and a backflush cleaning tablet when the machine prompts for its cleaning cycle.
Insert the cleaning disc
Fit the supplied cleaning disc into the filter basket in the portafilter.
Add one cleaning tablet
Place one cleaning tablet on the cleaning disc and lock the portafilter into the group head.
Prepare the machine
Empty the drip tray, fill the water tank and place a suitable collection container below.
Enter cleaning-cycle mode
Press and hold the 1 CUP and 2 CUP buttons together for 5 seconds.
Start the cleaning cycle
Press either 1 CUP or 2 CUP to start and allow the cycle to finish.
Rinse and finish
Remove and rinse the portafilter, cleaning disc, drip tray and collection container.
Mineral scale care
Descale the Bambino Plus.
The Bambino Plus descale programme treats the coffee and steam/water paths before its fresh-water rinse.
Prepare the tank and drip tray
Empty the drip tray and remove the water tank.
Remove the water filter
Take the fitted filter out before adding descaling solution.
Prepare the descaling solution
Prepare coffee-machine descaler according to its dosing instructions.
Fill to the DESCALE line
Add the prepared solution to the tank up to the indicated DESCALE level and refit it.
Place a large container below
Position a suitable container beneath the group head and steam wand.
Enter descale mode
With the machine off, hold 1 CUP and STEAM together for 5 seconds, then start the programme when the controls illuminate.
Run the fresh-water rinse
When the descale stage pauses, rinse and refill the tank to MAX with fresh water and resume the programme.
Rinse and restore filtration
When complete, rinse the removable parts and refit or replace the water filter before normal use.
Water filtration
Replace the Bambino Plus water filter.
Keep the fitted Sage filter on its replacement interval and record the installation date.
Remove the used filter
Lift the used filter from the tank or holder without forcing the connection.
Prepare the replacement
Prime the replacement filter according to its instructions before fitting it.
Refit securely
Install the prepared filter and refill the tank with fresh water.
Track the next change
Record the installation date or use the holder reminder so the next replacement is not missed.
Automatic milk care
Keep the Bambino Plus automatic steam wand clear.
The automatic purge helps, but milk still needs wiping from the outside of the wand immediately after use.
Wipe the wand
Wipe the steam wand with a clean damp cloth immediately after milk texturing.
Lower it for automatic purge
Return the wand to its down position and allow the automatic purge to complete.
Check for blocked holes
If steam performance falls, inspect the steam-tip holes for dried milk residue.
Clear and refit the tip
Use the supplied cleaning tool where required and refit the tip securely.
